This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Walgreens for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

After serving customers successfully, Walgreens now find themselves in the position of not being able to help a sub group of loyal customers, who will find themselves traveling further afield for their prescriptions.

The problem is the agreement between Walgreens and Express Scripts has broken up, despite best endeavors to keep it going by Walgreens. Obviously, this sudden drop in service for some customers and the extra journeying involved to acquire prescription medicines is not going to be going down well with the regular customers!

Only patients with certain prescription insurance plans managed by Express Scripts are affected by this change and now they found themselves dissatisfied through having to travel further afield to obtain their medicines, losing the personal contacts that some of them have built up over many years at their local Walgreens Pharmacy.

Walgreens are trying to mitigate the problem though. For those affected, or those that are just looking for a different service, there is the Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens as an alternative. For $10 a year, a family membership covers everyone in your immediate family, including a spouse, dependents 22 and younger and pets. Individuals may join for $5. Join and receive discount prices on your prescriptions, including 8,000 brand name and all generic medicines.

If you are interested in knowing more, or just want to get behind the campaign and support those trying to make it easier for their customers, you can follow Walgreens on Twitter or, if Facebook is more your style, you can instead see the page for Walgreens on Facebook.
